Hello everybody!

You know the measning of the verb "guarantee".

If you guarantee someone's debt, you formally promise to accept the responsibility for that debt if the person fails to pay it.

Can I say "back a loan for somebody"?

Does "back a loan for somebody" mean the same as "guarantee"?

Thank you.
