    How does one call this part of a racetrack (opposite the homestretch) in French?

    Thank you but the backstretch cannot be "la dernière ligne droite" (that's what the "homestretch" is.)
    The backstrecth is an area where horses are stables and trained.

    It contains the "paddock" and "stables."
    I'm not sure there is a word with the same semantic field in French...

    As I'm used to racing vocabulary, backstretch means ligne opposée ou ligne d'en face.
    Hope it helps even if this thread is a little old :)
