banner (in an organization)

Hi, I would like to know if someone could tell me what is a banner talking about departments and employees in an organization. It's in an article that talks about something called the career compass to help associates grow within an organization:

A talent review meeting Connects Associates with development opportunities beyond their department or banner
It is Forum to create cross-department and/or banner l awareness of the talented associates
(Here I believe there is a typo: I)
These meetings also help connect you with development opportunities you need to thrive in the company that may be beyond your department or banner.

    It looks to be business jargon, which can be a language of its own. Examples 1 and 3 seem to point to it being a synonym for brief or job specification, example 2 doesn't. Hopefully someone can help.
