"To be in the limelight" means to be the center of attention. (At one time, limelights were used to light stages in theaters.)

"To bask in something" means to enjoy something, to soak it up. People bask in the sun.

"To bask in the limelight" means to enjoy being the center of attention (as if you were on a stage.)

The phrase is not necessarily a criticism. If you are getting attention for something you have done well, you are entitled to "bask in the limelight". You should enjoy it.
