Hi, all.

This is from <A death in the family> by James Agee.

This is about a father and a little boy.
I don't get "bath-thing".

His neck was dark tan and there were deep crisscross cracks all over the back of it.
His hands were so big he could cover him from the chin to his bath-thing. There were big blue strings under the skin on the backs of them.

It looks to me like some sort of euphemism for "penis" or "genitals", sisse nar. I've certainly never heard it or seen it before.

Thank you, owlman5. I had guessed so, but I wondered how a hand could cover from the chin to his penis.
But maybe it's possible if his son is really small. Thank you.
