Be aware of Vs Be informed of

Hello,
what's the difference between:
1) "I was not aware of that".
2) "I was not informed of that".

The context it's a person didn't know an event done.

    The difference should be obvious. One means I didn’t know, the other means I wasn’t told. Either way, the person didn’t know.
