    I'd like to know how long des the expression be into sthg has been used for. Have English speaking people always used it, or have they only been using it for the last 10 or 20 years? You know, in the last two years I see it every now and then, but I do not remember having seen it before.

    You're quite right, I certainly never heard it when I was young. I may be wrong, but I think it's a popular Americanism of the 1970s.
