This sentence appeared in the model answer our teacher gave us to help improve writing skill

"To sum up , among these five countries , Poland beard the worst unemployment issue"

May I ask what does it mean to beard the worst issue? Is it a typo of bear?

Oh my, it could be that your teacher meant to write the preterit form of bear, which should be bore

Hi 114, even so, it has to be said that the sentence, while grammatically correct, makes no sense in English. You can't "bear an issue". Perhaps the intended sense is "Poland had the worst/highest unemployment (rate/problem)"?

Hmm, perhaps the sentence wasn't written by a native speaker after all.

Maybe it is not that worth learning.
