1. "become intimate with someone " can not be interchangeable with "get closer to" ?
I've just got to know "become intimate with someone " has more sexual meaning...
I would like to know the difference in them

2. the word " intimate" commonly is used online??

    1. They're not interchangeable, no. As Keith says (post #2), "becoming intimate" with someone implies a sexual relationship with them. You can "get closer to" your parents or your brothers and sisters, but you wouldn't "become intimate" with them.

    2. I would say you can use "intimate" online if you're exchanging messages of a very explicitly sexual nature with someone. It isn't usual, though.
