Me neither! I don't know how to translate it but I can read it, it says: [kimeriyaa].Hi everyone, Im not Bengali nor Indian but I appreciate the written script of Bengali. I would really appreciate if someone could translate the word "কিমেরিয়া" for me if at all possible. Thanks
I can barely read Bengali, but is says [kamireyaa]
The short 'a' being pronounced as an open 'o'...
Hope you'll find Bengali speakers to help you further here.
Thanks to you I can not only read it out but also understand it.Yowk, কিমেরিয়া (Kimeriya) is a proper noun (a person's name) and it has no meaning in Bangla. It is derived from the Sanskrit word कमनीय (kamaniya) meaning beautiful.
@Au101 You are right, there is no short 'i' sign before the 'ka' for me at least. Do I need to install Bengali in my languages to fix that??
What i mean is, is there a way to write "Kimeria" in its proper form without the extra "y"?Thanks guys, really appreciate it. I was looking for whether or not it meant the word "Kimeria". My cousin got that word in bengali tattooed on him and i wanted to know whether hegot screwed or not. I there a way to write that in Bengali?
When i and a come together, one naturally ends up a y glide. So, you can assume that your cousin's name is written correctly in Bengali (and in Punjabi!).
Didn't know that (obviously), thats pretty cool appreciate itYowk, কিমেরিয়া (Kimeriya) is a proper noun (a person's name) and it has no meaning in Bangla. It is derived from the Sanskrit word कमनीय (kamaniya) meaning beautiful.
