'beyond/extremely' disgusting

    YOu think having a worming millipede stretch its bazillion legs across your upper lip is creepy and beyond disgusting? Nope. It's tickly, not slimy, and it wouldn't think of taking a nip from a lip.

    Is it right to understand "beyond" in the above as "extremely?"

    I think a better understanding of "beyond" is "more than" or worse than" disgusting. It's being used to say that the idea is more gross than the word "disgusting" can imply.

    Beyond = Into another realm entirely (for which we probably don't even have a word). Note that this contribution is beyond brilliant. ;)
