I wonder whether it is wrong to write the title as "Birch Trees Droop at Night with No Ray in Sight"?

Thanks in advance

I take it to be the rays of the sun, so I would use the plural.

Even if you could use "ray," I would still suggest the plural "rays" to match the plural "trees" ... simply for the way it sounds.
