bird-bolt

Je suis en train de lire Much Ado About Nothing de Shakespeare, et je ne comprends pas le sens de "bird-bolt" dans la phrase :

"He set up his bills in Messina, and challenged Cupid at the flight; and my uncle's fool, reading the challenge, subscribed for Cupid, and challenged him at the bird-bolt."

Merci d'avance :)

A bird bolt was a short arrow used to kill birds, not piercing them.un boulon d'oiseau était une flèche courte employée pour tuer des oiseaux, mais ne pas les percer.
