hey guys, im currently translating a car review of a honda fr-v and one sentence goes like this...

depuis la boïte à œufs et le Fiat Multipla, on n'avait rien trouvé de mieux pour transporter six individus sur deux rangées.

A FIAT MULTIPLA is a car brand but what is a boïte à œufs?

an egg-box? but what does it have to do with a car?

THANKS!!

"since the egg-box and fiat multipla, we've never found better to transport six people on two sides"

I think the writer was saying that it is as well-designed for six people as an egg-box is for six eggs.
    wow!!! BIG THANKS suehil!!!!

i haven't thought of it like that!! IT'S because in where i live we usually buy eggs by the piece and most of the egg-box here are for more than six eggs!!! thank you again!!!!!!!

except the term usually used for eggs is carton, not box

    a carton of eggs
    an egg carton

a box of eggs suggests a large box filled with cartons of eggs, which the store would receive as a wholesale shipment
