there is an advert on the local bus
"buy before your board"
I think is it supposed to be " buy before you get on board".....?

or at airport, broadcast says" now, flight ** is boarding. so can i say, i am on the line to get on board.

or the captain of flight would say: Hello, everyone, we have got a long board ahead tonight....

can I say, I am on board when i am on the bus, the train, or the flight.?

  • It should be 'buy before you board' - to board means to get on. You can board a bus, a plane, a ship or a train. When you have boarded, you are on board.
The captains that I have heard have said, 'Welcome on board, we have a long flight ahead of us tonight.'

Yes, buy your ticket before you get on board the bus.

I am in the line (or queue) to get on board.

I am little dim about that, because I just saw it when I was on my way home this afternoon.
