Can the term l'esclavage be used when talking about sexual bondage, or is there another word for bondage of that sort?
    Thank you!

    Is that about sado-masochisme ?
If you say " l'esclavage ", you'll refer to human beings trade.
But you may say " l'esclave " if you give the context, or "l'esclave sexuel ".

Yes! Sado-masochisme. The term must have slipped my mind. Thank you! It doesn't really even have to be bondage specific. I'm trying to say she had sado-masochistic fantasies.

    Elle a des fantasmes sado-masochistiques?

  7. But bondage is not necessarily S-M

What is Bondage in terms of simply tying up a partner?

I'd keep "bondage" if I were you. It's not officially a French word as far as I know but it's what people use.

As far as I know, yes. But maybe other people have already heard it. It's not my case and I couldn't guess why it would mean this.
