Hi!

Could someone help me understand the meaning of BOOSTER CUSHIONS and MATS in the following sentence? (I only know the term booster cushions denoting a type chair for children, when they travel in cars and mat as a doormat)

Some restaurants can also provide highchairs and booster cushions, as well as colouring mats to keep children quiet while awaiting for their food to arrive.

Much the same as the car booster seats. They provide cushions to go onto the chairs used by children to raise them up so they can reach the table.

 

[Matching Mole]

... and colouring mats are table coverings with pictures on them which can be coloured in by children to keep them occupied, like a colouring book.
