bords auto-ajustables

Can anyone tell me what is meant by saying that certain socks have "bords auto-ajustables"... that you can pull them up yourself??!

I was thinking that as well. Could the text date from the time where elastic progressively superseded garters?

Thanks, both of you. I sent it off before seeing your replies but came to the same conclusion. It did strike me as an odd thing to say about a sock, given that all socks are made like that these days, so Quaeitur I am reassured by your question! The text has actually just been written but I didn't come up with anything else it could mean.
