bore of the magnet

Hello!

Can anyone explain me what does the "bore of the magnet" means here?

The text is about an ECG.

"It is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to see the P-wave on an ECG acquired when the patient is in the bore of the magnet."

    I assume that you know how ECGs are taken, and I assume that "the bore of the magnet" refers to the hole in the centre of an NMR.
