Both, [the] sea and [the] forest (Definite article)

Hola,

Quisiera saber si tengo que poner artículos definidos en esta frase o no. Crítica a una película:

"Ambos, el mar y el bosque, son representaciones simbólicas de una sexualidad contenida"

"Both, sea and forest" o "Both, the sea and the forest"

    Either is fine. Omitting the article makes it seem more formal, slightly archaic, and more poetic. You'd likely only see this in literature and never in speech.
