break a bone (i.e., leg, arm, etc.)

    Bonjour. I've got 2 questions....is the verb 'to break' a bone 'casser' or 'rompre'? Also, how would you say, 'He broke his arm'? 'Il s'est cassé le bras' or 'Il s'est rompu le bras'? Or does it carry the 'avoir' verb? 'Il a cassé/rompu le bras'? Mille merci.
