There is a videogame in which a character says:
"Break out the butter I'm gonna make toast!". He happens to have a flamethrower. It is clear what he intends to do with butter.
But what did he mean by "break out the butter"? Is it like "break the butter into pieces"?
Thanks in Advance.

"Break out the butter" means "bring/get out the butter"...if you enter "break out" into the search box at the top of the page and scroll down you will find links to a number of previous threads on the phrase.
