bubble up

This is a section from Robbie Williams book, which I'm translating into Slovene. I wonder what bubble up means in this context.
Unless a memory just bubbles up, the surest way to learn something new about Rob’s life story is to ask him about a song.

To 'bubble up' means to come to the surface, or in this context, the forefront of your mind. A bit like how bubbles blown underwater rise to the surface.

Or like how the bubbles in a glass of champagne rise to the surface.
