buried eggs with vegetation

< Previous | Next >

Crocodile mothers cover their buried eggs with vegetaton that gives out heat as it rots, keeping nest temperatures within comfortable limits.

Does vegetation refer to vegetables exclusively or any plants? Thanks.

I agree with everyone, but I'd like to add that "vegetation" often refers to the native plant life of the location. A rainforest would most likely have tropical vegetation. A desert would have sparse (or no) vegetation.

In other words, it's the plant life to be found growing wild in that area.
