"Once a bustling, boom town, Barrioville has become the victim of a recent economic recession." Hi. Would you like to help me understand what does "bustling, boom" refer to?

Thanks in advance.

Please tell us where you found this sentence, hhtt, and give us some context for it.
I have installed a computer game . There was a Word document in the installation folder of the game called T.H.U.G.S. The game is about the urban fights.

    Look:http://www.vektorspace.com/thugs/overview.htm

You can see it at the background part.

Here is also a bustling boom town, a town having an uranium mine.http://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/gallery-boom-and-bust-town-jeffrey-city/collection_91fcd548-feed-11e2-a7be-001a4bcf887a.html#0

You have inserted a comma that is not in the document. It's a (bustling) (boom town), not a (bustling boom) town.
    From Merriam-Webster on "boomtown":
: a town that experiences a sudden growth in business and population : a booming town
