but it was nobody’s idea of a tract home

THE MALIBU MANSION might have stood on one acre or three, but it was nobody’s idea of a tract home. Jane found it hard to size it from outside the stacked-stone estate wall.

What is the idea of the bolded phrase?

Tract housing, also known colloquially in the United States and Canada as cookie-cutter housing, is a type of housing development in which multiple similar homes are built on a tract of land that is subdivided into individual small lots. (wiki)

Thank you.

It means it bears no similarity to these houses. It was bigger and had a unique design (not a design similar to hundreds of others).

    US-style housing subdivision.

I presume that 'KB' refers to 'Kaufmann & Broad", a builder of tract homes in the US. Certainly anyone in the US knows what a tract home is.
