Hello to all,

Thanks for reading my post.

Sample sentence:

I'm trying to think of something that will make her feel better, but nothing that <is coming><comes> to mind seems appropriate at the moment.

Question:

What should I use in my sentence?

Thanks a lot for any comments, corrections or suggestions!

Regards,
JJXR

I think both are acceptable. But I would use ‘comes’. I don’t know why, but having two ‘is +ings’ together sounds a little awkward here.

Sorry Scrawny...I can't understand: where are the two 'is+ings' you refer to?
I meant ‘I am thinking’ and ‘that is coming’, but it’s true that the ‘nothing’ is another word that we can stumble over in this collection of ‘ing’ words.
