    Hey all!

I would like to know how to say the "by heart" expression in Dutch. It is used when f.e. we tell someone a poem without reading it from book.

    Example sentence:
I want to learn the poem by heart.

    In Dutch:
Ik wil het vers uit mijn hoofd leren.

    Is it correct?

    Thanks in advance!

    Dutch - Belgium
Ik wil het gedicht uit het hoofd leren.
    or
Ik wil het gedicht van buiten leren.

PS. "Poem" in English is "gedicht" in Dutch. "Vers" in Dutch is "verse" in English.
