Hi
what does "by quite a bit" mean in this sentence?

“There are just the two this year, then?” said a woman‟s low voice.
“Yes,” said Ana Kuya. “A boy and a girl, the youngest here by quite a bit. Both around eight, we think.”

Hi, Rorschach. It means that the girl and the boy are considerably younger than the other children in that place.

Who wrote these sentences? What is the title of the source where you found them?
