Cadeaux sans contrepartie

this is a subtitle in an article where a rich sheik gives a gift to the children of a town he likes - a sports centre:

Cadeaux sans contrepartie

As I understand it, it means he expects nothing in return. Or could it mean something else? (X a offert aux enfants du village « un surpercadeau sans contrepartie », )

How can I say this in English?

Indeed, it means he expects nothing in return, concretely.
It also has a moral implication: this gift is disinterested/unselfish.

    So I suggest:
    disinterested gift
