"L'ordre de vol.....est rédigé sur le cahier d'ordres et de travail aérien." This is Air Force terminology concerning instructions to pilots. "L'ordre de vol" seems to be a specific 'flight order' for each mission, but what is the "cahier d'ordres et travail aérien' or just 'cahier d'ordres' by itself? Does 'flying order book' sound right? Is it the squadron's master record of aircraft comings and goings - a compendium or log of all flight orders? What would be the RAF equivalent?

Isn't it the flight log? Sometimes known as a log book or navigation log

Ladyjustine, I'm still researching but I think (hope) you're right. Thanks.
