Hi there. I would like to write California Chocolate Festival 2008 in French. The closest I can come up with is Fe^te du Chocolat de Californie 2008 but I do not know if that is correct. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks so much!
You can use the same word, Festival. However in French, unless they're at the beginning of a sentence, common names do not take a capital letter. And it's preferable to add the article, before Californie. So... Festival du chocolat de la Californie 2008
You wouldn't however use the article with a city name. e.g. Festival du chocolat de Los Angeles.
