Can we remove "as" from "called as revolving" without affecting its meaning? It appears to me that there is some nuance here which I cannot tell.

Thanks in advance

Revolution of the Earth: The movement of the Earth around the Sun in a fixed orbit is called as revolving. One full orbit around the sun is one revolution. The Earth takes 365 days or 1 year tocomplete one revolution. The Earth revolves around the Sun because of gravity.

English but my first language was German
"is called as revolving" is not English. I have no idea what the writer was thinking of. A logical sentence in this point of the exposition would be "The movement of the Earth around the Sun in a fixed orbit is called revolution".
