How would I say 'camp life' in French, as in the life of all the people that life in the same camp.

The sentence is 'all afternoon he lay on his bunk listening to the sounds of camp life outside.'

I've translated it

Does that work?

It's quite good. In French though, one would more easily refer to "les bruits" instead of "le bruit de la vie". You could also use le brouhaha.
