Indeed I was trying to find another words, but I unable to find them:

Where a variant spelling entry is provided, the alternative is generally given only once, but can be assumed to be possible for any nested words or phrases in the entry.

    Frankly, I don't see any reason to change any part of the sentence. Yes, it is not immediately understandable to someone reading it by itself, but it should be perfectly understandable within its context. (I don't know that I'd leave the comma in "once, but."

    There is, as Suspishio says, no need to restate this; it's clear as written.
    If you want stylistic alternatives, consider:

    can be assumed to be a possibility [needlessly wordy]
    can be assumed possible [terse]
    but are possible
