Hi.

Can I make a reservation for optional tour?
It is a sample sentence of my guide book for sightseeing.

If I say, "Can I make a reservation of optional tour?",
is it OK?

Thanks in advance.

I think it's usually for. You also need an article before 'optional tour'.

    Therefore,
Can I make a reservation for an optional tour?

I might say though, 'Can I book that tour?' for something that sounds less formal. But this might not be available in AmE.

"Book" tends to be more BE than AE, but it's well understood, especially since "overbooking" is a common (and somewhat threatening) term in airline travel.
