can you sidestep a rule?

Do you sidestep/skirt/evade/shun/eschew a rule? What's the right verb for when you don't want to stick to a rule but find a way to avoid it?

'He doesn’t bring the other medication round, because he doesn't want me to sidestep what docs deem right.'

because he doesn't want me to sidestep [or any other verb] what docs deem right.' this seems awkward. It should really be rephrased to give positive intent to 'his' actions: He doesn't bring the other medication round because he wishes me to comply with what the docs deem right.
