Hi,

Please advise,

What does "capacity" mean in the context below? Is it A: function / position of the person, e.g. notary public or B: elibibility to hold an office (of a notary public) meaning that this person really is a notary public.

Thanks,

A.

Context: Apostille issued by Secretary of State (of Texas)

APOSTILLE

This Apostille only certifies the signature, the capacity of the signer and the seal or stamp it bears. It does not certify the content of the document for which it was issued.

That the person who signed is in fact a public notary.

    Apostillle:
a document used in international law that is issued by a government in accordance with the Hague Convention and that certifies that another document has been signed by a notary public.

    :)
