Hallo,

we created a book with pictures and under each picture is a lign with the german and english title.

But I´m not sure about the common form in use of capital and small letters.

For example:

1
Underground excursion into the Visitor Mine of the Museum ?

2
Residential area with a view of the newly refurbished high-rise
or Residential area with a view of the newly refurbished High-rise
or Residential Area with a view of the newly refurbished high-rise
or Residential area with a View of the newly refurbished high-rise

What is more common ?

3
Entrance Passage to the Theatre or Entrance to Theatre Arcade
or completely different ?
It´s like a gate where you go through and then there is the theatre.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

Hello Janine, I think the style followed in the "Residential area with a view of the newly refurbished high-rise" is the most followed style in books these days. I hope some experienced English editor makes it clearer for you.

Yes, in English, unlike German, we don't use capitals for nouns: only where they're the start of a sentence or a proper name.

Or is the museum an institution and I have to write Museum ?
Don't capitalize it unless the actual name of the museum is Museum, which is very unlikely. :) (I hate these new smileys, by the way.)

    And what about number 3.

My picture looks similar like this one: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/88/Senftenberg_Neue_Bühne_Eingang_Theaterpassage.jpg

But what´s the name for ?
    "Theatre entrance gate."
