Career

Hi.
In Spanish we'd normally say "estoy estudiando la carrera de Psicología", but I've been corrected several times over not saying career when referring to a university course, but I've seen that some teachers (non native) use this, which made confused.
Can I or not use this word this way or what's the best expression?
Thanks in advance.

Right, we don't use "career" that way. Use "course" or "program"; a program would be made up of multiple courses taken over a period of time.
