When you can't sing well, you can say 'carry a tune'. But is 'carry the tune' correct to say?

It sound fine to me.

The only real difference is that "the" refers to a specific song/tune, while saying "a" implies that the person can't sing any tune.

To be able to carry a tune is a general skill.
To be able to carry the tune is the application of that skill to a particular tune.
