cash position

Hello!
Can you say "cash position" when referring to the money in a cashbox, to the "situation" of the cashbox, if you know what I mean. Or is "the financial state" better? Or is it "the state of finances"?

    I am not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the amount of cash in a petty cash box or something else?

    Financial state of petty cash sounds... overdone. It's merely petty cash after all. I'd prefer something more generic like 'petty cash total'.
