They surged about her, caught her up and, bore her, protesting, and then pleading and then crying, back into a tunnel, a room, a
closet, where they slammed and locked the door.

Q: Does it mean that they made her tired and she was protesting and pleading and was taken to a closet?

They surged about her, caught her up and, bore her, protesting, and then pleading and then crying

    Paraphrased:

They (energetically) surrounded her, picked her up and carried her, and while being carried she protested and then pleaded and then cried (while they were carrying her to the closet).
