Come si dice 'cavity' in italiano? Ho consultato il dizionario in cui ho trovato due parole per tradurre, cavità e carie. Quale di due va usata quando si parla del buco?

Sono andato dal dentista: ne ho tre. (infatto? Vuoi dire che te ne ha curate tre? Spiegati meglio!)

a cavity in a tooth is "carie". "cavità"has a more general meaning, is a hole or a space inside something solid, while "carie" is a hole in a tooth.
can I correct some mistakes you did?
you shouldn't say "una domanda sulle denti" ma "una domanda sui denti" because "denti" is masculine plural, so the right preposition is "sui".
"quale di due va usata quando si parla del buco?"...you have to say:"quale delle due va usata quando si parla di una cavità in un dente?". saying "una cavità in un dente"(a cavity in a tooth) is more neutral and more correct because if you say "del buco" is very very ambiguous in italian, so you should specify of what hole are you referring to.
finally you should say:"sono andato dal dentista, ne ho tre infatti". infact the "dentista" is the dentist, the doctor, but "dentiera" is dentures!

If you're talking about body cavities you have to specify this because any Englishman will automatically think of dental cavities when you use this word...
