Hi, "mito" is different from "cool", which is more specific. In fact, it's often left in English in Italian texts. Quindi, "S. McQ. era la personificazione stessa del cool cinematografico" -- well, that's one suggestion anyway. And you can play around with the idea of "the epitome of" (or do a search here on the term!).
