Please correct these sentences.
1.It does not afford any chance of scuttling the process of enquiry.
2.It does not afford any chance to scuttle the process of enquiry.
3.It does not afford any chance to scuttling the process of enquiry.

    For number 2 I would say "does not offer any opportunity to" - and number 3 is not a possible construction...

    I prefer sentence 1.
    Sentence 2 is awkward and I would not say it...when I speak it aloud it sounds wrong. I am unable to say if this is just a personal thing or if it is indeed incorrect.
    My apologies if this muddies the water.
