Check your id -bank

Senior Member
Hello everyone!

If your brother is going to the bank to open a saving account, would you tell him, "Bring your ID card, they will check it." to explain to him why he needs to bring it?

Is 'check' the right verb? Or do the bank staff looks at your ID card??

Thank you!

... Or unless you are in Ireland :)
There are lots of threads about bring take.
I use bring the same way in the USA. "Are you going outside? Make sure you bring your umbrella with you because it is raining."

PS: In the US, it is also rarer to hear ID card. We simply say ID most of the time. "Bring your ID."
