Hi everyone, I was wondering what the exact spanish translation of "Checkable bank deposit" or "Checkable deposit" is. It is part of the definition of narrow money (currency in circulation + checkable bank deposits). It is not the same as "depósitos a la vista" given these are called demand deposits, or is it? Thank you in advance.

    Hello Noebac!

Welcome to the forum, checkable bank deposits are bank accounts on which people can write checks. I think the Spanish translation of "checkable bank deposit" is cuenta corriente de cheques.

Demand deposits (are also called checkable deposits). The Spanish translation of demand deposits is depósitos a la vista.

    I hope this helps. :)

    First off, welcome to WR!

    Definition of 'Checkable Deposits'
Any demand deposit account against which checks or drafts of any kind may be written. Checkable deposit accounts include checking, savings and money market accounts. They also include any kind of negotiable draft, such as a Negotiable Order of Withdrawal (NOW) or Super Now account.

Agree with Whiz-ard, depósitos a la vista
