how would the in gamba part be translated here?

ci sentiamo in gamba come ventenni! = ?

    I don't exactly know if there is a precise expression to translate "in gamba",but I'd say something like "We feel no fool as if we were in our twenties".

    From WR: essere in gamba: (essere forte) be strong; (capace) be smart

    Therefore it depends on the context.
    If the context is related to a physical activity you can translate it with strong;
    If the context is related to a mental status you can translate it with smart

    I'd nearly leave out the 'in gamba' translation - if you say 'We feel like we're in our twenties', it also conveys the meaning.

    If it relates to physique or physical wellbeing, you could say 'We feel as fit as if we were in our twenties'
