Classical Hebrew: הפח בחורים כלם

Isaiah 42:22:

וְהוּא֮ עַם־בָּז֣וּז וְשָׁסוּי֒ הָפֵ֤חַ בַּחוּרִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם וּבְבָתֵּ֥י כְלָאִ֖ים הׇחְבָּ֑אוּ הָי֤וּ לָבַז֙ וְאֵ֣ין מַצִּ֔יל מְשִׁסָּ֖ה וְאֵין־אֹמֵ֥ר הָשַֽׁב׃
מִ֥י בָכֶ֖ם יַאֲזִ֣ין זֹ֑את יַקְשִׁ֥ב וְיִשְׁמַ֖ע לְאָחֽוֹר׃
מִֽי־נָתַ֨ן למשוסה לִמְשִׁסָּ֧ה יַעֲקֹ֛ב וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל לְבֹזְﬞזִ֖ים הֲל֣וֹא יְהֹוָ֑ה ז֚וּ חָטָ֣אנוּ ל֔וֹ וְלֹֽא־אָב֤וּ בִדְרָכָיו֙ הָל֔וֹךְ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ בְּתוֹרָתֽוֹ׃
וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֤ךְ עָלָיו֙ חֵמָ֣ה אַפּ֔וֹ וֶעֱז֖וּז מִלְחָמָ֑ה וַתְּלַהֲטֵ֤הוּ מִסָּבִיב֙ וְלֹ֣א יָדָ֔ע וַתִּבְעַר־בּ֖וֹ וְלֹא־יָשִׂ֥ים עַל־לֵֽב׃

All translators agreed that הָפֵ֤חַ בַּחוּרִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם is meaning something like: all of them are trapped in the caves (or the holes).

Please explain what kind of verb is הָפֵ֤חַ. It doesn't look like passive no matter what binyan (probably hifil).

According to this understanding, הפח is an absolute form of root פחח in Binyan Hiphil.
And it seems that "trapped" is based on the role of Hiphil that also represents a (new) state.
So, a man who is מפח is a man who is trapped. (inside the (noun) פח=trap).
